A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a palm tree with green foliage and a white trunk in front and above a Greek cross on a white background enclosed by a wide oval gold band with a raised laurel pattern, the cross divided vertically blue and red and bearing on the frontal lane of its horizontal arm two white magnolia blossoms with green leaves.

The cross, traditionally a symbol for aid and assistance, divided with the colors blue for subconsciousness and red for consciousness, refers to the basic mission of the Hospital.  The palm tree, a tree of life in early civilizations and also indigenous to the Philippines, alludes to the organization's service in that area for which it was awarded the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation represented by the colors blue, white and red and the gold laurel band.  The magnolia, state flower of Mississippi, refers to the present home area of the Hospital.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 3 June 1971.
