The cross, traditionally a symbol for aid and assistance, divided with the colors blue for subconsciousness and red for consciousness, refers to the basic mission of the Hospital. The palm tree, a tree of life in early civilizations and also indigenous to the Philippines, alludes to the organization's service in that area for which it was awarded the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation represented by the colors blue, white and red and the gold laurel band. The magnolia, state flower of Mississippi, refers to the present home area of the Hospital.
